Adrian Mathier Nouveau Salquenen Ambassadeur Fumé Gros Rhin Valais
Our Ambassadeur Fumé is produced with Gros Rhin grapes grown in the village of Chamoson in southwestern Switzerland. After experimenting for 5 years, we managed to process this white wine like a red one by fermenting it during the maceration. It is then aged in oak for 6 months. This vinification process is undoubtedly a world innovation.
Tasting Notes: Fine wood notes and very fruity on the nose. This wine has enormous complexity. Acidity, including tannic acidity unusual for a white, and vanilla notes complement each other in a sensational manner. Long and intense finish. Pairing: Seafood and crustaceans, smoked fish or poultry. Unsurpassed with salmon in a sweet mustard sauce with dill. Color: white Varietal: Gros Rhin (also known as Johannisberg or Sylvaner) Bottle Volume (ml): 750 Appellation: Valais Rating: Swiss Winemaker of the Year 2007 Producer Website:http://www.mathier.com/
Adrian Mathier Nouveau Salquenen La Valaisanne Malvoisie Valais 2008
The Malvoisie, also known as Pinot Grigio, is a late harvest grape (26 Brix). Since the juice is highly concentrated, only part of its sugar is transformed into alcohol, which gives the wine a natural sweetness.
Tasting Notes: Naturally sweet bouquet. Intense, honey and almond flavors. The palate is elegant, with a nice balance between sweetness and acidity; full-bodied. Pairing: Serve as an aperitif, or with dessert and pastry. Ripe fruits on the palate, with a light tannic structure, making this Pinot very drinkable even young. Pairing: Perfect with meat and cheese. This wine is exclusively produced on our “Domaine de la Raspille”. We strictly limit the yield and make the vintage only during the years when the grapes reach a certain sweetness. Tasting Notes: Notes of black currant on the nose. The palate has a rustic and wild character. Pairing: Very versatile. Perfect with barbecues, lamb chops or deer meat. Best to decant before serving. Adrian Mathier Nouveau Salquenen Diego Mathier Syrah Valais 2007
A perfect example of the high quality that Swiss winemakers can achieve with international varietals, this Syrah rivals the level of some northern Rhône counterparts. From vineyards located in Conthey and Sierre.
Tasting Notes: My Syrah grapes produce a strong wine with an intensive colour. If drunk while young, it has a tangy extravagant taste. As the years go by it develops spicy perfumed hints of violet and mignonette which with time transmute into wild and peppery perfumes. At the height of its maturity it develops a harmonious taste which borders on perfection. Pairing: To accompany lamb, beef, game or cheese. Our recommendation: unforgettable with lamb cutlets and Provencal herbs accompanied by fresh wild mushrooms. Decant.
