Mas Foulaquier Les Calades Pic Saint-Loup Coteaux du Languedoc 2006
Mas Foulaquier was named an OUTSTANDING Languedoc producer by Robert Parker. A ‘calade’ is an area paved with limestone, like the 8 hectare plot of vines of Foulaquier. Limestone gives the wine its freshness, its mineral edge and its complexity. The property’s top wine has been christened ‘Les Calades’ in homage to this superb terroir. Aged for 24 months, half in concrete tanks, half in oak casks.
Tasting Notes: Intense nose with black cherries. Pleasant on the palate, velvety, soft, silky tannins, black fruits and spices. Long. Pairing: Asian food, rib of beef, Mediterranean cooking: grilled meat, lamb, beef, grilled vegetables with olive oil, tomatoes, with rosmary and thyme spices. Color: red Varietal: 55% Syrah, 45% Grenache Bottle Volume (ml): 750 Appellation: Pic Saint-Loup Coteaux du Languedoc Producer Website:http://www.masfoulaquier.com/index_gb.php
