Gabare was the name given in the old days to boats with a flat bottom, ideal for shallow rivers, and navigating up and down the Vienne and Loire rivers. These boats were used to transport wine. During periods of flooding, the gabardiers (gabare sailors) constructed walls made of tuff, the abundant local porous rock composed of calcium carbonate. This contributes to the diversity of the contemporary vineyards. Southern exposure in the middle of the Panzoult slope. Sustainable agriculture. Aged in concrete tanks for 7 months.
