The vineyard was planted between 1979 and 1982 around a beautiful mansion built in 1834. The vineyard had been abandoned since the phylloxera epidemic at the end of the 19th century. Overlooking the Gironde estuary, it is situated less than 7mi from the ocean, which regulates its climate. Aged in oak barrels.

Located in the area of Saint Sauveur next to Pauillac, the vineyard has included Château Liversan and Château Fonpiqueyre since the XVIIIth century. The soil made of gravel limestone on a halk subsoil acts as a filter favouring the vines' roots. Classified as Cru Bourgeois in 1932 this estate was formerly owned by the Marquis de Latresne in the XVIIIth century and by the Prince Guy de Polignac since 1984 until the Lapalu family purchased the estate.

Pécharmant is a very small region on the right bank of the Dordogne river, and is the only appellation using a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon on this side of the river.
